Actually, y name is Jay. I am a historian, albeit an amateur one. I write on behalf of no institution.
History is not simply a record of governments and battles, but a study of human endurance, adaptation, and memory. My goal is not only to document the past, but to better understand how societies respond to instability, fear, prosperity, radicalization, and change. I want to preserve voices too often overshadowed by larger figures. Beneath the statistics and headlines were millions of individuals attempting to build lives, maintain families, and find meaning in uncertain times; a reality that continues to resonate far beyond the era being studied.
